Scott Michael Ryan (born 12 May 1973) is an Australian politician and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education. He was educated at St Kevin's College in Melbourne. He has been a Liberal member of the Australian Senate since July 2008, representing the state of Victoria.

Ryan was elected to serve a six-year term in the Senate at the 2007 federal election, after being preselected in the third position on the Coalition ticket in Victoria.

Ryan was born in Brisbane. He is a former student politician and political staffer. He is reported to be factionally associated with former treasurer Peter Costello. He was a member of the executive of the Victorian Division of the Liberal Party, holding the office of Vice President, and is a life member of the Australian Liberal Students' Federation.[1] His work background is in corporate affairs for pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline.[2][3]
