Scot Marciel is an American diplomat and is the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary to the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. He was the United States Ambassador to Indonesia from August 2010[1] until July 2013. Marciel has worked for the United States Department of State since 1985. He has served in various capacities abroad and in particular was the United States Ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations prior to his nomination in Indonesia.[1] He is a graduate of the University of California, Davis and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.[1]
