Savi Technology
Savi Technology is a United States-based company that provides sensor-based analytics, software and hardware for managing and securing supply chain assets. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, Savi has offices in Lexington, Kentucky; London, United Kingdom and Melbourne, Australia. Savi was founded in 1989 and its real-time RFID products and services were deployed in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and are currently used by US and allied military forces including the US Department of Defense, NATO, Australian Defense Force, and the US Air Force.

Savi is the primary provider of active RFID for the U.S. Department of Defense since 1993, and helped build the DoD's In-Transit Visibility network.[1] The company is also the primary technology provider for cargo-monitoring networks used by NATO.[2]
Founded in 1989, Savi was a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin from 2006 - 2012. In September 2012 Savi Technology was acquired by affiliates of LaSalle Capital of Los Angeles, California. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.[3][4]

Savi is a leader and pioneer in sensor technology—active RFID hardware products in particular—and has expanded into software & analytics that secure, monitor and provide operational intelligence on a wide range of assets and cargo types. The company's active RFID tags, for example, are secured on the doors of cargo containers and its specialized software allows user to monitor the containers' location, movements, shock, contents, tampering and interior temperature to name a few. Software then provides automated alerts and analytics on shipments, as well predictive capabilities based on sensor data so organizations can streamline supply chain operations and improve operational intelligence. The ability to closely monitor security and environmental conditions is a feature valued by ports, international shippers, pharmaceutical companies, retailers, food / beverage, insurance companies, the military, and relief agencies. With over 115 domestics and foreign issued patents, Savi has maintained technology leadership as witnessed by the company's proprietary "System on a Chip.[5]"
Savi's product-tracking and asset management systems utilize any type of sensor—active and passive RFID, barcode, GPS, cellular, satellite communications, etc. Its Sensor-based Analytics Platform is able to collect, digest and normalize data from any source—sensor or non-sensor based.
Savi joined over 20 other technology companies to form the DASH7 Alliance, an industry consortium with the mission of improving interoperability among ISO 18000-7 certified devices, as well as to promote and expand the ISO 18000-7 standard.
Another standard for RFID is ISO 18185, which covers electronic cargo seals (e-Seals). E-Seals are an emerging class of active RFID devices with built-in security and tracking features that enhance visibility, security and efficiency of in-transit cargo containers.
