Saturnus is a band from Denmark formed in 1991 playing melodic death/doom metal, with touches of gothic metal.

Biography

In May 2006, Veronika Decides To Die, the 3rd full length album from Danish doom-metal band Saturnus, was released. The album title was inspired by Paulo Coelho’s novel of the same name. Before this album, Saturnus has made two albums, Paradise Belongs To You and Martyre, and an EP, For The Loveless Lonely Nights.

On 9 April 2012, Saturnus stated through their Facebook site, "Tomorrow we start the recordings for the new album "Saturn In Ascension", again it is 'Flemming Rasmussen' behind the mixer, we are looking so much forward to this. Bass and drums are the first things to be recorded the coming days, we will keep you posted on the development." On 10 October 2012, Saturnus announced on their Myspace page that the release date for "Saturnus in Ascension" would be 30 November 2012.
