Satsanga Deoghar disaster

On 24 September 2012, twelve people died and fifty people were injured by careless management by Satsang committee in Deoghar, Jharkhand. This is infamous as the Satsanga Deoghar disaster. Dainik Jagaran and other newspapers are investigating the matter. Allegedly, the callous management by Satsanga committee on occasion of Anukul Chandra's 125th birthday, which included the presence of a central minister, among other important guests, led to the incident. Allegedly they informed the District Administration after four hours around 8:00 to 8:30, but the incident had occurred around 4:00 am to 4:30 am. It is alleged that Satsang committee tried to hide the disaster as directed by their secretary and administrative body.

Background

Careless management by Satsanga committee on occasion of Anukul Chandra 125 birthday where central minister also coming. Management factors

Allegedly Satsang management did not care for the devotees. Worship conditions were on a First come first serve basis.

No proper safety arrangements were made if the general public opinion is to be believed.

Ordinary health care facilities provided by satsanga committee. Hundreds of people were injured and missing.

Economic rehabilitation

No help has been provided by Satsang committee. The Government has promised to give a compensation of 2 lacs to the families of the bereaved.

Public reaction

There is mass anger over the Satsang committee in specific and also on the Government for mishandling and mismanagement of issues. They want CBI investigation. People want jobs for dead peoples' relatives.

Charges against Satsang committee and secretary Kartik Chandra Sarkar

Charges were filed against satsanga committee by the family of the Victims.Charges filled against responsible people. Satsang secretary called for interrogation.Police investigating is going on Sp claimed Satsang no inform them on the spot. District sp & Adgp take action against satsanga committee.Fir against satsang committee filed by Hari shankar minyari And Girindra kumar. Satsang committee ignored government order for preparation of safety.

Monitoring of Mass

Police camped there and secured people. Police started blueprint of Tirupati in Devghar.

Only investigation no action

People and media claim only investigation done by government. No action taken against culprits Satsang committe. Satsang committe trying to dilute this case.
