Plot
Sati Savitri is based on a true story and is set in ancient India. One evening, Savitri notices a refined young man and falls in love. It is later revealed that he is a prince in another country, and that his name is Satyavanta. Savitri and Satyavanta want to get married, but Devarshi Narada warns Savitri that Satyavantha will die within a year after their wedding, and therefore suggests that they should not marry. She ignores his advice and marries him nonetheless. Satyavanta loses his country due to certain complications and he, his wife, and his parents are forced to live in the forest. On the day of their first anniversary, Satyavanta goes deep into the forest to collect materials, unaware of Devarshi Narada's predictions. Worried about what might happen, Savitri accompanies him into the forest -- where her husband is accidentally killed. Devastated by her husband's death, Savitri fights against Yamadharmaraja. After a long struggle, Satyavanta is revealed to be alive. This film shows the power of Pativrata Stri (the respect and devotion of a wife for her husband).
