Sarn is a village in Bridgend County Borough, Wales, about 3 miles north of Bridgend and which lies just east of the confluence of the Ogmore and Llynfi rivers. It is located to the east of Aberkenfig, south of Brynmenyn, and south-east of Tondu. It is around 15 minutes' walk from the M4 and the McArthurGlen Group Bridgend Designer Outlet.

Community

Its population is approximately 2,500. The heart of the community is the community centre and the supermarket (Filco Foods).

Education

The nearest primary school is Bryncethin primary school and the nearest comprehensive school is Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen, located in neighbouring villages of Ynysawdre and Bryncethin (Y Dderwen currently operates under a split-site basis). The closest Welsh-medium school is Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd in Maesteg.

Transport

Sarn is served by Sarn railway station which was opened by British Rail on 28 September 1992.[1] Passenger services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales as part of the Valley Lines network for local services.
