Sapir College (Hebrew: המכללה האקדמית ספיר, HaMikhlela HaAkademit Sapir) is a college located next to Sderot, in the northern negev of Israel. It has around 8,000 students.[1] Until 2010 Its president was Zeev Tzahor, later on 2010 the active president had been changed to Prof. Jimmy Weinblatt [2]

The college awards Bachelor's degrees in 12 areas (Communication, Cinema and TV, Software Systems, Marketing, Administration and Public Policy, Industrial Management, Law, Human Resources Management, Culture Studies, Logistics, Economics, and Social Work), as well as a multidisciplinary BA (in the Humanities and Social Sciences) and a MA in Administration and Public Policy.

It also offers study in further five subjects for which the degrees are awarded by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in nearby Beersheba. In addition, the college provides training for Engineering technicians. The college operates an educational radio station, "Kol Hanegev" (106.4FM).

Several annual conferences and events are organized at the college:

  • The Sderot Conference for Society is an annual event taking place since 2003 and its goal is to bring together the political and economical elites for a discussion of relevant social issues and conflicts.
  • The Film Festival of the South - an international film festival organized by the dept of film and television.
