Santiago Mellado

Santiago (Jim, Jimmy or James) Heriberto Mellado is the President and CEO of Compassion International replacing CEO Wess Stafford, who retired in September 2013. Mellado previously served as president of the Willow Creek Association (WCA) in South Barrington Illinois. He joined the WCA in 1992 and served as its president from 1993 to 2013. Education

He is a 1991 graduate of the Harvard Business School. While a student at Harvard, he wrote a case study on the Willow Creek Community Church which has become a part of the curriculum at Harvard Business School.[2][3]

He graduated cum laude with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.[4]

Olympic Games

In 1988, he competed in the Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea and placed 26th in the decathlon for the country of his birth, El Salvador.Athletics at the 1988 Summer Olympics[5] A year before that he competed in the Pan American Games and placed fourth in the decathlon competition[4] After 22 years, he retains two national records for his performances.[6]

Personal

In 1986 he married Leanne and they have three children named Ester (1989), Bizzy (1991) and Davy (1994). They live in Colorado.
