Santa Cruz (Portuguese for Holy Cross) is a parish in the municipality of Lagoa in the Azores. The population in 2001 was 3501, in an area of 14.25 km² that extends from the southern coast of São Miguel to the Serra de Água de Pau massif (a density of 245 inhabitants per km²).

Geography

Santa Cruz has a school, a lyceum, a gymnasia and a square. In 2007, the parish Santa Cruz will be celebrating 500 years serving the population.
