Earlier, Allahabad also used to be on the route of Sanghamitra Express, but in the beginning of 2014, the train's route has been diverted through Cheowki yard. This step was taken by railway authorities in order to subside the overwhelming volume of traffic and passengers at Allahabad and also to curtail the run time between Patna and Bangalore by a couple of hours. Cheowki Station a new stoppage added to the list of this train from January 2014. The time of travel between Danapur and Bangalore, however, remains the same as it used to be according to the Railway Time Table existing previously.
