The school is listed by the Department for Children, Schools and Families as one of the leading schools in England, with the biggest sustained improvement in the proportion of students gaining five good GCSEs from 2004 to 2007, and an OfSTED inspection in December 2008 concluded that “Sandwich Technology School is an outstanding school. It provides an excellent quality of education for students.”[citation needed]
School accommodation and resources include a sports and leisure centre, floodlit all weather pitch (recently opened for the use of both the school and external organisations and the general public at certain times in the year), an Open Learning Centre (Joint library and computer room with around 40 all in one desktop pc's), a drama studio, in-house cinema, science and technology rooms and several computer rooms.
