Sandan-kyō (三段峡) is a ravine in Japan.

Overview

Sandan-kyō is a 16-kilometer long ravine along "Shiwaki River" in Akiota, Hiroshima, one of tributaries of the famous Ōta River in Hiroshima, Japan.

Sandan-kyō is a part of Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi Quasi-National Park.

Sandan-kyō is known for autumn leaves and maples.

Access

By car

  • Expressway
Take Chugoku Expressway, and exit at Togouchi I.C. and take Route 191.
  • National road
Take Route 54 and take Route 191 from Kabe.

By bus

  • Hiroden Bus Services
    • Express bus
From Hiroshima Bus Center or Yokogawa Station, Take Express bus to Sandan-kyo bus stop (terminal). It takes one hour and ten minutes from Hiroshima Bus Center.
    • Local bus
From Hiroshima Bus Center, Yokogawa Station or Kabe Station, Take local bus to Sandan-kyo bus stop (terminal). It takes two hours from Hiroshima Bus Center.
