Samuel Floyd Angus (April 1855 – February 6, 1908) was the principal owner of the Detroit Tigers of the American League from 1902 through 1903. He was born in Monroe County, Ohio.[2][3] Angus was also a "millionaire owner of Michigan electric railways". In 1902, Angus purchased the franchise from James D. Burns to become owner. In 1903, Angus sold the Tigers to Bill Yawkey. He died at Detroit in 1908 at the age of 52. His wife had predeceased him in 1908 and he is said to have "broken down physically and mentally" in the time before his death.[4][5]
