Sam Stern (born 29 August 1990[1]) is a British celebrity chef and author. He has written six cookbooks Cooking Up A Storm - The Teen Survival Cookbook - translated into 14 languages - Real Food Real Fast; Get Cooking; Sam Stern's Student Cookbook; Eat Vegetarian all published by Walker Books, UK. And Virgin to Veteran - How to Get Cooking with Confidence - published by Quadrille. This latest is due for publication in the USA, France, Sweden and the Netherlands in 2013.[2]
Stern grew up as the youngest of five siblings in Yorkshire, England.[3] Stern writes a regular blog, samstern.co.uk,with free cooking advice and recipes. He has written for First News, a children's newspaper. He wrote a monthly feature for 'Yorkshire Life Magazine' and has contributed to dozens of newspapers and magazines internationally. He has appeared on radio and TV in the US where he toured for 3 weeks and France.[4][5] In addition to his dream of owning his own restaurant, he would like to open a cookery school and continue to persuade his generation to cook for themselves. Sam believes that 'you only eat so many meals in your life - so make each one special'. He is interested in all styles of cooking, loves Chinese food and hopes to visit China to learn how to cook it at source.[6][7]
