Sam Juhl (born November 3, 1987) was the mayor of Roland, Iowa at 18 years of age in 2005.[1] Juhl was among the youngest mayors of a United States city to date. He ran unopposed.[2] Elected November 8, 2005 with 48% of the vote, he took office January 9, 2006. At the time, he was a senior at Roland-Story High School. He plans to major in history when he enters college and eventually wants to fill public office.[1] In 2007 Juhl successfully ran for re-election receiving 54% of the vote.[3] He ran for district 10 State Representative in Iowa but did not win the primary. He did not run for re-election in November 2009. His term ended on January 1, 2010.
