Salon is a town and a Tehsil as well as Nagar Panchayat in Rea bareli in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Geography
Salon is located at 26°02′N 81°27′E / 26.03°N 81.45°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 110 metres (360 feet). Salon has a rich history which is deeply entrenched in Sufi traditions , the Khanqah-i-Karimia is a spiritual center within the town.The Salon Bazaar is also a popular attraction for the adjoining villages.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Salon had a population of 13,166. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Salon has an average literacy rate of 50%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 57%, and female literacy is 41%. In Salon, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
