Sally McKenzie

Sally McKenzie (born 8th February 1955), is an award winning Australian actress, director, playwright and producer. She graduated from Australia's prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1977.[1]

Acting roles during her 30 year career include Roz in Jucy (2010), Mystic Marj in the comedy TV series Mortified and top dog Roo Morgan in Prisoner. In 1983 she won the Best Single Performance by an Actress in a Serial Penguin Award for her appearance of rape victim Lynne in a 2-hour special of Cop Shop.

Her theatre performance credits are extensive. Notable roles are Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare's Macbeth for the Queensland Theatre Company and for the Melbourne Theatre Company, the Electra role Lavinia Mannon in O'Neill's Mourning Becomes Electra and the good woman Shen Te in Brecht's The Good Woman of Setzuan.

Plays she has written include i dot luv dot uā˜ŗ, Scattered Lives, A Safer Place and multimedia episodes.

She directed short films Shopping For Baby, Death By Art and the 2008 documentary actingclassof1977.com [2] about her experiences at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and her classmates, who included Mel Gibson.[3]
