Saitual is a census town in Aizawl district in the Indian state of Mizoram.
History
Saitual earlier known as Saihmar Khan was founded by Dorawta Sailo who after conversion wanted to create a Christian settlement in the year 1912, at first about 16families joined them but later more people joined them in 1916, as population increased schools and other facilities were created.[1]
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Saitual had a population of 10,243. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Saitual has an average literacy rate of 83%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 84%, and female literacy is 82%. In Saitual, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Transport
The Distance between Saitual and Aizawlis 60 km and is connected with regular service of Bus and Jeeps.[3]
Education
There is one college Saitual College, under Mizoram University and a number of public and private schools.
