Saint Motel is an American four piece band from Los Angeles, whose music has been described as everything from "dream pop" to "indie prog".[1][2]

Saint Motel consists of A/J Jackson (lead vocals/guitar), Aaron Sharp aka "a sharp" (lead guitar), Chondrak "Dak" Lerdamornpong (bass), and Greg Erwin (drums),[3][4] who met in film school in Southern California. The band emphasizes visuals in addition to its music, and its debut EP ForPlay included a video for each of the six songs.[5]

Saint Motel has created or performed at a variety of shows,[6] including The Kaleidoscopic Mind Explosion in 3D,[7] Future Fathers Day, The Black & White Show,[8] Make Contact, and Valentine's Zombie Prom[9] and has toured with bands such as Band of Skulls,[10] Nico Vega, Imagine Dragons,[11] Races,[12] and most recently Hockey.[13]

On July 23, 2011, Saint Motel performed a live set for "Guitar Center Sessions" on DirecTV. The episode included an interview with program host, Nic Harcourt.[14]

The band's debut full length album, Voyeur, was released on July 10, 2012.[15][16] Mark Jenkins of the Washington Post described the album as, "Channeling British glam-pop as only a Los Angeles band can, Saint Motel makes chic and sprightly music with hints of ironic malevolence".[17] KCRW Music Librarian and DJ, Eric J. Lawrence said, "They have attacked it with gusto on Voyeur, adding dynamic touches to their rock-solid core of songwriting" and that "Overall the album is a satisfying package from start to finish", and Daytrotter said "The band makes its vices sound and seemingly taste like salt water taffy. Jackson sings about California dreams and somehow they sound attainable anywhere."[18]

Four of the album's songs, "Puzzle Pieces", "At Least I Have Nothing", "Honest Feedback", and "1997" were #1 on the Hype Machine's Twitter charts with Puzzle Pieces scoring in the top ten in the overal Popular charts twice.[19][20][21][22][23]"Voyeur" debuted at #18 on the alt specialty radio charts.[24]

Recently HBO Films used "Dear Dictator" in their 2013 trailer for Boardwalk Empire[25] and Dewars Scotch Whiskey featured Saint Motel in their 2013 "Live True" ad campaign.[26]
