Not to be confused with the modern-day Saint-Athanase in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.
Saint-Athanase was a former town in Quebec. Today it is a part of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
It is noted for being the birthplace of Honoré Mercier.
