Sahlon a village in the Nawanshahr district of Punjab. The main occupations represented in the village's population are agriculture and the transaportation business. Like other residents of the villages in the Doaba region, Sahlon's villagers live mostly abroad.

The population of the village is approximately 1,800, the majority of which belong to the Bhatti Rajput people, which is a sub-division of the Sikh Rajputs. The village has one government high school, and one cattle dispensary. It is very easy to reach Sahlon from the nearest city center, Nawanshahr, which is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) away, and the nearest town is Banga, which is just 11 kilometers from the village.

In past decades, Sahlon was famous for its youth's interest in the military, with Sahlon having the largest number of military personnel in the 1970s, above that of Nawanshahr Block.[1]
