Saginaw Valley League
The Saginaw Valley High School Association (commonly referred to as the Saginaw Valley League) is a high school sports league within the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), located in the Saginaw/Flint, Michigan area. It was formed in the fall of 1904 with five teams: Bay City Eastern (Bay City Central), Bay City Western (Bay City Handy), Saginaw Eastern (Saginaw High), Arthur Hill, and Flint High (Flint Central)[1]

- At the end of the 2012-13 school year, Flint Northern will be closing its doors, leaving the south division with just six teams and also leaving Flint with only Flint Northwestern and Flint Southwestern Academy. It will be the first time that the Flint Community Schools will comprise only two high schools since Southwestern was established. Prior to that, the two high schools were Northern and Flint Central.
- Flushing was accepted as a member of the Flint Metro League and will begin their new conference affiliation in 2014-15. Membership for Carman-Ainsworth into the Flint Metro League, who applied at the same time as Flushing, was declined.[2]
*Lapeer will be combining into one high school at the end of the 2013-2014 school year, leaving thei schools student body to large for the flint Metro League.
Lapeer high will join the Saginaw vValley League at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.

- From 1969-1979, the Conference splint into a Saginaw Valley East and a Saginaw Valley West Conference. Many Conference Realignments happened during this time.

- Flint Northwestern was included in the Saginaw Valley League up until 2001, as it became an Independent in 2002.
- Mount Pleasant High School entered the Valley for the first time in 2005 after the 2002-2003 season being the last of the Mid-Michigan Athletic Conference-A.
- Saginaw Heritage entered the Conference in 1994 after a consolidation of Eisenhower High School and MacArthur High School although it was in the White-Pine Conference since its creation (1988) to 1992-1993.
- Pontiac Central High School left the Conference after the 1994 season for the Oakland II Conference, now the Oakland-Blue Conference.
- Neither Bay City T.L. Handy, Bay City Western, nor Bay City Central are included in the 1978 football results, because none of the Bay City schools had football teams that year.
- After the 1979-1980 season Bay City T.L. Handy left the Saginaw Valley Conference to join the White-Pine Conference in 1988, and ultimately closed its doors after the 1989-1990 school year, only to be later opened as T.L. Handy Middle School.
