The S2 is a regional railway line of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network, and is one of the network's lines connecting the cantons of Zürich with Schwyz, Glarus and St. Gallen.

Route

The line runs from Effretikon and heads, stopping by Zürich Oerlikon, Zürich Hauptbahnhof and Zürich Enge, on the left shore of the Lake Zurich to Pfäffikon (SZ) and Ziegelbrücke, a village straddling the cantons of St. Gallen (railway station site) and Glarus.

Between 22 December-6 January daily, and 30 November-1 April on weekends, three morning and three afternoon services/direction run non-stop from Ziegelbrücke to Unterterzen (not calling at Weesen, Mühlehorn and Murg), from where one can take a gondola lift to reach the famous ski resort of Flumserberg.

Between Zürich Enge and Pfäffikon the S2 stops only in Richterswil, Wädenswil, Horgen and Thalwil.
