The S16 is a regional railway line of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network, and is one of the network's lines connecting the cantons of Zürich and Schaffhausen.

Route

The line runs from Thayngen in the canton of Schaffhausen and heads for Herrliberg-Feldmeilen or Meilen on Lake Zürich, stopping by Winterthur, Zurich Airport, Zurich Hauptbahnhof and Zürich Stadelhofen.

Between Schaffhausen and Winterthur, the S16 stops only in Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Andelfingen.

In the evenings the S16 continues towards Meilen.

Scheduling

The S16 travels between Thayngen and Zürich Airport only once an hour; the train frequency is usually 30 minutes, and the trip takes 92 minutes.
