Ryan Whitney Newman (born April 24, 1998) is an American teen actress, singer and model. Newman is known for her roles as Ginger Falcone in Zeke and Luther, Cindy Collins in Zoom and Emily Hobbs in See Dad Run. As a child model, Newman has participated in many photo shoots such as Inspire Magazine, Kaiya Eve Photoshoots 2009 and Dream Magazine. Newman not only works in films and television shows, but has also filmed many commercials throughout the years.

Early Life

Newman was born on April 24, 1998 in Manhattan Beach, California. At an early age, Ryan was determined to pursue a career in entertainment. Her enthusiasm and natural talent caught the attention of casting directors. With a number of national print ads under her belt, Ryan booked the first commercial she ever auditioned was for Kraft Cheese, an experience that proved Ryan's passion for acting was not without considerable talent and drive.

At the shoot, the directors found themselves without the Spanish-language counterpart to Ryan's English-language role. Urgently needing to film the commercial in both languages, production asked young Ryan if she could speak Spanish, to which she replied, "If you teach me!" Ryan saved the day, beginning to show the world and the industry that she is a multi-talented and versatile young girl.

Career

2006-2007: Career beginnings

Newman made her feature film debut at the age of seven in the films Zoom and Monster House. Newman co-starred opposite Tim Allen, Courtney Cox, and Chevy Chase in Sony's Zoom, Newman portrays a young super hero that seeks to save the world from destruction, a role that required her to train in martial arts.

With a role in Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg's blockbuster hit Monster House), Newman earned the distinction of being the youngest actor ever to be motioned captured. Newman was part of an all-star cast that included Steve Buscemi, Nick Cannon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kevin James, Jason Lee, Mitchell Musso and Catherine O'Hara and among others.

2010-2012: Breakthrough

On the small screen, Newman appeared in multiple seasons of Disney's hit show Hannah Montana as a young Miley Cyrus as well as in the highest-rated episode in the Disney Channel Original Series, Good Luck Charlie opposite Bridget Mendler, Jason Dolley and Bradley Steven Perry.

Later, Newman was cast as the precocious antagonist, Ginger Falcone, in Disney XD's Zeke and Luther. Her character constantly looks for ways to torment her brother Zeke and his best friend Luther, which always leads to a hilariously entertaining outcome. Zeke and Luther was the number one television series on Disney XD.

In 2010, Newman won the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series by a Leading Actress. Newman was nominated among four other contenders that included Miley Cyrus for Hannah Montana and Miranda Cosgrove for iCarly.

2012-present: Upcoming projects

In 2012, Newman was cast as the lead role of Emily Hobbs, on See Dad Run, which premiered on Nick at Nite on October 6, 2012.

Personal Life

Newman resides in Southern California, U.S. with her mother and father, with her older sister, Jessica Newman. Her hobbies include dancing, fashion, and singing/songwriting. Newman has described herself as "half Jewish and half Christian".^[2]
