Ryan Downe
Ryan Downe is an American musician and audio engineer. His debut album The Hypocrite was released in 1996 by Elton John's label named The Rocket Record Company.[1] Downe opened for The Who,[2] and for Iggy Pop,[3] during their 1997 tours. Later he and his guitarist Johannes Luley opened Freudenhaus Recording Studio in San Francisco.[1] It was during this time that Downes is credited with co-engineering and playing/singing on the Grammy Award nominated album, Arepa 3000, by Los Amigos Invisibles.[1]
Downe and Luley later went on to form Moth Vellum a progressive rock band.
From May 2002, he worked for Linden Lab, the creators of Second Life in a variety of roles from content, project management, and chief of staff.[4] In November 2009, he left Linden Lab with founder Philip Rosedale to work on a company called Love Machine Inc.[5]
