Rui Miguel Teixeira Caetano (born 20 April 1991 in Paredes) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Gil Vicente F.C. as a forward.

Club career

Paços de Ferreira

Caetano joined F.C. Porto's youth system at the age of 12, being released in 2010[1] and joining F.C. Paços de Ferreira shortly after. He made his top division debut on 14 August of that year, starting and assisting Mario Rondón for the game's only goal in a home win against Sporting Clube de Portugal.[2]

Caetano played 24 matches in the 2012–13 season (20 as a substitute, 606 minutes of action), as Paços finished a best-ever third and qualified to the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history. He scored his only goal of the campaign on 28 April 2013, netting the final 2–2 at Vitória S.C. in the 88th minute.[3]

Gil Vicente

On 2 January 2014 Caetano signed for fellow top-divisioner Gil Vicente FC, penning a contract until June of the following year.[4]

International career

Caetano gained 43 caps for Portugal all youth categories comprised, scoring two goals. He participated at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, only missing two games out of seven as the nation finished in second place.[5][6]

Personal

Caetano's father, Agostinho, was also a professional footballer.[1]
