Rouzbeh Yassini

Rouzbeh Yassini (Persian: روزبه یاسینی‎), Ph.D. is an Iranian-American engineer who was one of the earliest developers of cable modems. He was the founder of LANcity and helped establish the cable modem industry standard (DOCSIS) through Cable Television Laboratories. He now is the Executive Director of the University of New Hampshire Broadband Center of Excellence^[1] and the CEO of YAS Capital Partners. CED Magazine named him “1998 Man of the Year” for creating and fostering the multibillion-dollar cable modem broadband industry.^[2] Dr. Yassini is the author of Planet Broadband, a humanized look at broadband technology. The National Cable & Telecommunications Association awarded Dr. Yassini with a 2004 Vanguard Award, the association's highest honor.
