Rosenhøj

Rosenhøj is concrete public housing project in Viby J, a suburb south of Aarhus in Denmark. The area is made up of concrete blocks and contains 869 apartments. The area has in the last couple of years been attractive for immigrants to move to. In 2001 22% of the inhabitants where immigrants; in 2008 more than 52% where immigrants, nearly all of the inhabitants under the age of 18 has an immigrant background. The majority of the immigrants comes from Afghanistan, Somalia and Turkey. Rosenhøj and nearby Grøfthøjparken (also a public housing project) were lately facing lots of vandalism and fires, caused by "youth-gangs" from the areas.
