Roop and Tom (Rupert Jones and Tom Bowker) are radio presenters who met at Cardiff University student radio station radio station Xpress Radio.

Early career

After winning Best Entertainment show at the Student Radio Awards, they joined Fox FM in Oxford (now Heart), winning the Arqiva Commercial Radio Newcomers of the Year award in 2006 for their evening request show before being promoted to drivetime.

XFM and GWR FM

They left Fox FM in 2007 to launch the Xfm South Wales breakfast show. In June 2008, Xfm South Wales was sold and rebranded, Roop and Tom took the opportunity to join GWR Bath to host the breakfast show, which they presented until the station became rebranded as Heart in 2009. They were the subject of an Ofcom investigation during their time at GWR Bath, for inciting crime following a piece about the ethics of stealing mugs from high street coffee chains. However, Ofcom found they were not in breach of the broadcasting code.

Absolute Radio

Roop and Tom joined Absolute Radio in 2009 and presented various shows, including Early Breakfast and Weekends.Absolute Radio.

Comedy Writing

In addition to presenting, Roop and Tom have been involved in comedy writing. In 2007 they finished as Runners-Up in the BBC Comedy Competition "Witty and Twisted" with their sketch show, Botley, broadcast on BBC Radio 7. They have also written for other BBC Radio shows and produced their own series of comedy sketch shows with their friend and former producer, Gareth Gwynn.
