Ron Grooms is the state senator from Indiana's 46th District.
Early life, education and career
Grooms graduated from Lizton High School in 1962 and received his pharmacy degree from Butler University in 1967. He owned his own pharmacy from 1969 to 2006. Grooms served on the Jeffersonville City Council from 1984 to 1992, and again from 2000 until his election to the Indiana Senate. He is a past President of the council, and chair of the finance committee.
State Senate
Grooms was elected in 2010, very narrowly defeating popular Floyd County Commissioner Chuck Freiburger to take the seat held by retiring Democrat Connie Sipes. He will be up for a second term in 2014, should he choose to run.

Grooms is married with two daughters.
