Ron Brooks (born October 16, 1988) is an American football cornerback for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was drafted with the 124th pick in fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football for Louisiana State University.

Early life

A native of Irving, Texas, Brooks attended MacArthur High School, where he was a decorated dual-threat quarterback. Brooks was a four-star recruit as an athlete coming out of high school by Rivals.com.[1] He chose LSU over offers from Arkansas, Texas Tech University, and Texas A&M University.

College Career

Appearing in 53 games, he accumulated 90 tackles, including 12.5 for loss, 5.5 sacks, ten pass breakups, 3 interceptions, forced five fumbles while recovering three. He only started three games in his career at LSU, mainly due to the fact he was playing behind many talented cornerbacks such as Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, Tyrann Mathieu and Tharold Simon.

In his rookie season, he missed the first seven games due to a broken bone in his foot he sustained in the final pre-season game against the Detroit Lions.[4] He was placed on injured reserve with the "designated to return" label.[5] He returned in Week 9 against the Houston Texans, and went on to play in nine games, starting in two of them, and finished his rookie season with 19 tackles and four passes defended.
