Roger Thompson (born 19 December 1991) is a Jamaican born Canadian football player. He currently plays for IFK Mariehamn of the Finnish top division Veikkausliiga.
Career
Youth
Thompson was born in Clarendon, Jamaica and moved to Brampton, Ontario at the age of ten. A year later he started playing football at the local club Brampton East SC and later at Vaughan SC. In 2009 he played 14 matches for the Graceland University. 2010 he attented the University of Cincinnati and played two seasons for the Cincinnati Bearcats. In 2011 Thompson was able to play just three matches due to injury.[1]
Professional
In early 2012 Thompson trained two weeks with Veikkausliiga club VPS Vaasa, but he wasn't signed. In April 2012 Thompson made a year-long contract with another Vaasa based club Vasa IFK.[2] He played 21 matches for the team at the Finnish third tier Kakkonen.[3] In January 2013 Thompson was signed for two years by IFK Mariehamn.[4]
