Rock of Eternity

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A feature of Captain Marvel stories, the Rock of Eternity is apparently situated at the exact centre of space and time, meaning that from there different locations in space-time can be accessed, along with other dimensions. It was made from fragments of Heaven and Hell and is shaped like a giant stone diamond. It is home to the Wizard Shazam. Pre-Crisis the Elders also inhabited the Rock, and they apparently discuss the problems of the Universe. The personifications of the Seven Deadly Sins and various other demons are imprisoned there. Pre-Crisis version it could be accessed by faster-than-light travel, however Post-Crisis other means are needed by Captain Marvel to access it. On various occasions the Sivanas and other enemies were able to get there. During Day of Vengeance it is destroyed by the Spectre over Gotham City, releasing the Sins and other evils.[1] Later, Captain Marvel, Shadowpact and some other superheroes are able to reform it.[2]
