Robert Scott Wilson (born in 1988) is an American model and actor who is best known for being the first male model of The Price Is Right.[1] He also plays the character of Peter Cortlandt in the TV series All My Children [1] He lives in Hollywood, California and was born in Boston, Massachusetts.,[2] and appeared in the feature films Bride Wars (2009) Surrogates, Friends With Benefits and The Social Network.[3][4][5]
Early life
Wilson grew up in Uxbridge and Graton, Massachusetts near Boston. In 2006, he moved to New York after graduating from Grafton Memorial High School.[6] He went back to Massachusetts for a couple of years before moving to Los Angeles in 2010.[5] He grew up watching “The Price Is Right” with his family and loved it so much.[3]
Career
Before becoming the first male model for The Price Is Right, Rob Wilson has co-starred in episodes of the television series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and The Middle.[4][5]
In addition, he has guest-starred as Colin Kirk in Supah Ninjas and appeared in episodes of “Entourage,” ” “Melissa and Joey,” “Greek,” “Suite Life: On Deck” and “Make It or Break It.” He also appeared in the music videos for Victoria Justice, Manika, Toni Braxton and David Guetta, featuring Fergie.[3][7] In August 30, 2012, “The Price Is Right” held an open call for male models and he emerged as a finalist after competing with 25 other male models. He was then voted by viewers of the show to be its first male model in September 2012.[3][8][8]
He changed the 40 years tradition of “The Price Is Right” in hiring female models to be the presenter of the prizes in the show.[9] He was part of the Thanksgiving episode of the show, which aired in November 19, 2012, and part of the Christmas-themed episode.[10]
In 2013, he joined the cast of "All My Children" for The OnLine Network as tech wiz, Pete “Petey” Cortlandt. His character, Pete Cortlandt, is the youngest son of Opal and Palmer Cortlandt and a 22 year old Silicon Valley tech wiz.,[11][12] Rob is also one of the Ford models of Los Angeles. He stands 6’ tall, brown-haired, hazel eyes, and wears shoe size 11. [4][13] He also modeled for several brands of underwear.[13][14]
Personal life
Rob Wilson’s whole family lives in Boston while his mom lives in Framingham.[6] He also thinks that a trip to Fiji would be pretty amazing and his favorite place for a vacation is Bora Bora. After graduating from Grafton Memorial High School in 2006, he moved to New York City, went back to Mass. for a couple of years, and then to Los Angeles in 2010.[3][6] He also spends his spare time playing basketball, football, and hiking.[3]
