Robert Garibaldi Kalanikupuapaikalaninui Keoua Wilcox (1893–1934) was a relative of the royal family of the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Life

Robert Garibaldi Kalanikupuapaikalaninui Keoua Wilcox was born January 17, 1893, a few days after the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. His mother was Princess Theresa Owana Kaohelelani Laanui of the House of Laanui, a collateral branch of the House of Kamehameha. His father was Colonel Robert William Kalanihiapo Wilcox who had led several uprisings called the Wilcox rebellions. His younger sisters were Virginia Kahoa Kaahumanu Kaihikapumahana Wilcox and Elizabeth Ka'akaualaninui Wilcox, and his half sisters were Daisy Emaline Napulahaokalani Cartwright and Eva Kuwailanimamao Cartwright. His name Kalanikupuapaikalaninui Keoua, commemorates his descent from High Chief Keōua Kalanikupuapaikalaninui, the father of Kamehameha I and Kalokuokamaile, great-great-great grandfather of Robert.

He married his first wife, Helen Kaleipuanani Simerson Wilberton, daughter of William Kuakini Simerson, by his wife, Julia, née Andrews, on April 15, 1916. His second wife was Ruth Ewaliko. He had six or seven children:[1]

He died in Honolulu, Oahu, February 26, 1934, at age 41.
