Robert J. Rodriguez (born April 11, 1976)[1] is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 68th Assembly District based in East Harlem.

Rodriguez was born and raised East Harlem. He attended P.S. 112, River East Elementary School, Isaac Newton Middle School, and Cardinal Hayes High School.[2] Rodriguez has a B.A. degree in history and political science from Yale University and an M.A. degree in finance from New York University.[1]

Prior to being elected to the New York State Assembly, Rodriguez served as the chairman for Manhattan Community Board 11. Rodriguez is the son of the former City Councilman, Robert Rodriguez.

Arrested for DUI

On June 4, 2013, Rodriguez was arrested in upstate New York and charged with driving while intoxicated (DUI). According to the Colonie Police Department, Rodriguez was driving erratically and dangerously, failed several field sobriety tests, and had "watery, bloodshot eyes and slow speech."[3][4]
