Robert Covington (born December 14, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D-League, on assignment from the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) tall, and can play both forward positions.[1] He played college basketball at Tennessee State University.

Professional

After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft, he joined the Houston Rockets for the 2013 NBA Summer League. On July 15, 2013, he signed a multi-year deal with the Rockets.[2] On November 7, 2013, he was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.[3] On January 18, 2014, he was recalled by the Rockets.[4] He made his NBA debut the same day, playing a total of 54 seconds.[5]

On February 3, 2014, Covington was named to the Prospects All-Star roster for the 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Game.[6] On February 7, 2014, he was re-assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.[7]
