From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert Bast (born 1965) is a New Zealand author and researcher living in Australia.
He has written about the 2012 phenomenon since 2000. His website Survive 2012, launched in 2000, was one of the first to discuss a scientific doomsday for 2012.
In September 2009, Bast was interviewed by Playboy magazine for their feature article Apocalypse 2012.[1] On 8 November 2009, he appeared in a National Geographic Channel documentary 2012: Countdown to Armageddon.[2]
Controversial claims
He has claimed that the end of the Mayan Long Count calendar could be a scientific prediction by an ancient culture, citing a solar storm and the return of a comet as possibilities.[3]
