Rob Astbury

Rob Astbury is a former Australian television sports journalist. During a media career spanning 21 years he won an unprecedented 10 VFL/AFL awards and two national Penguin awards and was twice nominated for the Logie Awards for the Best News Story of the year. After an early career in Melbourne radio, Astbury made a successful jump to television – firstly for the often-struggling Channel 0/10 network before accepting an offer to work for the pre-eminent Channel 9 network.[citation needed]

In 2006, Asbury published The king and I, a biography that detailed his relationship with entertainer Graham Kennedy.[1] Astbury worked as a real estate agent at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast between 1995 and 2000. For the next decade he ran a property development company in Thailand, returning to the Gold Coast in 2010. In September 2013 he was officially ranked in the Top Ten real estate agents on the Gold Coast.[2]
