Riposto (Sicilian: Ripostu) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, located about 170 km east of Palermo and about 25 km northeast of Catania.
History
During the fascist era Riposto was joined to Giarre under the name of Jonia, but separated again in 1945.
Geography
The town is located on the Ionian Coast, and borders with the municipalities of Acireale, Giarre and Mascali. Its frazioni are Altarello, Archi, Carruba, Praiola, Quartirello and Torre Archirafi.
