Rigvedi

Rigvedi denotes one of the two subcastes of the Deshastha Brahmin community of Maharashtra and Karnataka in India. The other subcaste is Yajurvedi.
The word Rigvedi is derived from Rigveda, the oldest of the four holy Vedas of Hindus.
Goud Saraswat Brahmin are also Rigvedi brahmins.
Brahmins of other regions may also have the Rigvedi/Yajurvedi distinction, but the word is most commonly used to differentiate Deshastha subcastes.
