Frederick Steven "Rick" Auerbach (born February 15, 1950) is a former shortstop in Major League Baseball. He played from 1971-1981 with the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and Seattle Mariners.
Biography
Auerbach was born in Woodland Hills, California and graduated from Taft High School in 1968,[1] He played college baseball at Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills.[2] He was originally drafted by the California Angels in the 13th round of the 1968 amateur draft, but did not sign with the team.[3] He was drafted the next year in the secondary phase of the 1969 amateur draft by the expansion Seattle Pilots.[3]
