Richmond Elite is an expansion franchise of the American Basketball Association which began play in the 2011-12 season. Based in Richmond, Virginia, the Elite planned to announce its home venue in the coming weeks.
In their early planning stages, the team was originally going to be called the Richmond Warriors.
