Richard Tanne is an American writer, producer, and actor. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey. Tanne began writing as a teenager and was the recipient of the New Jersey Governor's Award for Excellence in Arts Education for playwriting.[1] He was also the winner of the Young Playwrights Inc. National Playwriting Competition, founded by Stephen Sondheim.[2] He attended film school at SUNY Purchase and went on to produce the horror film Mischief Night, which is set to be released in 2014 through After Dark Films and Lionsgate.[3][4] He has also been announced as the co-writer of an upcoming Julius Caesar movie to be produced by Mark Wahlberg.[5] As an actor, his credits include the SyFy Channel movie Swamp Shark, and the ABC Family show The Nine Lives of Chloe King.[6][7] Tanne also co-wrote, co-produced, and acted in the upcoming film Worst Friends, co-starring Kristen Connolly and Cody Horn.[8] He was also the host and co-creator of the movie culture talk show Cinema Cool.[9]
