Richard Burtenshaw Elms (born April 5, 1949) is a former English cricketer. Elms was a right-handed batsman and a left-arm fast-medium bowler.

Elms made his first-class debut for Kent in the 1970 County Championship against Hampshire, where on debut he four wickets in the match. Elms made just one appearance in the 1970 season.

In 1971 Elms became a more regular appearer for Kent, making his List-A debut in the 1971 season against Sussex. Elms would represent Kent in 55 first-class matches and 46 List-A matches. Elms final first-class appearance for Kent came in 1976 against Glamorgan and his final List-A appearance came in the same season against the same opposition.

In 55 first-class matches for Kent Elms scored 362 runs at an average of 9.52, with a high score of 31*. In the bowling department Elms took 89 wicket at a bowling average of 40.34, which included four five wicket hauls and best figures of 5-38. In his 46 List-A matches for Kent Elms took 45 wicket at a bowling average of 30.62, with best figures of 3-27.

In 1977 Elms joined Hampshire, making his County Championship debut against Somerset and his one-day debut for the county against Lancashire in the Benson & Hedges Cup. Elms final first-class appearance came for Hampshire in the 1978 County Championship against Somerset, with his final List-A appearance coming against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

In 17 first-class matches for Hampshire Elms scored 196 runs at an average of 16.33 and made his highest career score of 48. With the ball Elms took 27 wickets at an average of 37.59, with best figures of 4-83. Statistically his first-class bowling for Hampshire was more successful than his bowling at Kent. Elms played 8 one-day matches for Hampshire, taking 7 wickets at an average of 32.57, with best figures of 2-22.
