Richard Seymour Cawthorne (born 3 December 1976) is an Australian actor of theatre, film and television.

Career

Richard has appeared in many film and television productions. His credits include Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, The Straits, East West 101, Rush (2008 TV series), Noise (2007 Australian film), Neighbours and Underbelly: Squizzy and Killing Time,[1] for which he won the 2012 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA)[2] Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Drama.

Personal life

Born in Hong Kong in 1976, Richard is of Jewish descent [3] and is the son of writer and journalist - Zelda Cawthorne (née Pakula).[4]

His father Russell Cawthorne was VP in charge of International Marketing for Hong Kong film production company Golden Harvest Studios.[5] He wrote the screenplay of the Golden Harvest produced documentary Bruce Lee, The Legend in 1977, and appeared in Lee's film Game of Death.[6][7][8]

Richard is also first cousin to Australian Labour Minster, and Victorian Shadow Attorney General Martin Pakula.[4]
