Richard Brindley (born 5 May 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for League One side Rotherham United.

Playing career

Norwich City

Brindley started his career at Norwich. He joined Norwich at the age of 9 and later broke through into the Youth Team in September 2009, scoring against Aston Villa after coming on as substitute. He moved up to their academy as a scholar at the end of June 2009. He played 21 games for Norwich City Reserves scoring three times[2]

UK Football Finder

Richard played one game for the UK Football Finder Elite team against Leatherhead on Tuesday 12 September 2012.

Chelmsford City

Richard signed for Chelmsford City in the summer of 2012 upon his release from Carrow Road.[3][4]

Chesterfield

Brindley joined Chesterfield on 17 January 2013.[5][6]

Rotherham United

Brindley joined Rotherham United after completing a medical at the New York Stadium on the 23rd May 2013. He put pen-to-paper to become Steve Evans’ second summer signing following Joe Skarz, who officially made his loan move permanent at the end of the season. His signing further strengthens the Millers rearguard after the full capture of Skarz from Bury.
