Richard Bateman (botanist)

Richard Mark Bateman (born 27 May 1958) is a British botanist. He graduated in Biology in 1981 and later earned a doctorate in Paleobiology in 1985.

He was awarded the Bicentenary Medal of the Linnean Society in 1994.

The standard author abbreviation R.M.Bateman is used to indicate this individual as the author when citing a botanical name.^[1]
